Tour Guide Activities (Speaking)

THIS IS THE JOB OF BEING A TOURIST GUIDE. 

Hello everyone, my name is Aghnia Zafira Zanuba, from class XI DKV 2 SMK N 4 Semarang. Today the class is studying material about tour guides. This lesson teaches us all how to become a Tour Guide explaining the chosen destination to tourists.

Below is an example of a tour guide dialogue that I created that can be used to practice your pronunciation, intonation, clarity and fluency.


TEKS:

Hello everyone. My name is zafira. On behalf of Pemuda Tours I would like to welcome you all to Semarang City. A city with a variety of stories from its people, history, food, culture, and more. The hotel you will be staying at is Tentrem City Mall. For our safety let me give you some safety precautions in brief. First, I ask that you remain seated until we reach our destination and do not eat or drink while on the bus. Secondly, please follow your schedule. Third, if you need help, please ask for help immediately. 

Question:

Sorry is the accommodation comfortable for us?

Yes, I promise you will enjoy your stay here at Tentrem City Mall, Semarang. It is a beautiful and quiet city where you can relax. You can walk along Pandanaran to experience Semarang's unique specialties and enjoy the fountains at Tugu Muda, or take a moonlight stroll along the canal's flood waters. Please don't swim there. It is not a safe place to swim as the currents are strong.

Question:

Excuse me, where can we swim?

Maron Beach is the place to go if you want to enjoy swimming in the sea. You can take a gojek from your hotel. There you will enjoy a very beautiful panoramic view of the beach that is quite a shame if you don't capture it through photos or videos.

If you need to exchange your dollars into Rupiah, please use a bank or money changer. We do not recommend exchanging your money at the hotel as you will not get a fair price. 

We will stop at the hotel in just a few minutes. Please sit back and enjoy the view of the beautiful city of Semarang on the right and left side of the bus. I request that you remain in your seats until we completely stop. Please recheck your bag has been removed from the bus. Personally, I think this learning is difficult for me because I really have difficulty with pronunciation. But this lesson taught me how to speak English well and correctly. That's all I can say.
